The purpose of The Bastrop Association for The
Arts (BAFA) is to promote, support and enhance the arts and art education
in the Bastrop area. We are a non profit organization. BAFA sponsors many
activities supporting the arts throughout the year.
Our largest and most popular endeavor is the Salinas Youth Art Contest. This contest provides every child in the community with the opportunity to display their artistic abilities. This contest would not be possible without the cooperation and support of our schools, downtown businesses, and parents. To learn more about this contest, go to our Youth Art Contest page. We also sponsor art enrichment programs in the schools and community, assist needy students with art supplies for school, fund two scholarships for area high school seniors and are actively working in the community to create visual art spaces and programs. These are just some of the activities that BAFA sponsors each year. We are looking forward to another great year, with many exciting activities.
